Why Taijiquan?

Though taijijquan has become known worldwide as a method for maintaining one's health & improving both strength & stamina, this art was created & taught in China as a martial art. Indeed, the writing of the founders of this dynamic martial art state clearly that in order to gain the civil benefits of improved health, clarity of mind, etc., practitioners must have a clear understanding of the martial. This is because in order to practice this art as an internal art, one has to practice it mindfully & all the movements of the forms have direct martial applications. Since one must understand something in order to practice it mindfully, it is necessary to comprehend the martial applications in order to properly practice tajiquan.

Each of the advertised seminars will cover different material, so those intending to go to all four, will be learning something new each time. The Blue Mountains Swordsmanship Seminar will compare the basic cuts of the Michuan and Public Yang styles. The Brisbane one will concentrate on Michuan and swordplay. There will be material suitable for beginners, people of other lineages, and more experienced people, in each seminar.
